Honeycomb paper padded bags

These use a layer of expanding honeycomb kraft — paper die-cut into hexagonal cells that open out to cushion the contents. The honeycomb structure gives strong protection against impacts, vibration and edge knocks, making it well suited to heavier or more robust items that need solid all-round protection. It's fully paper, with no plastic bubble layer, so it recycles with your other paper and card.

Embossed paper padded bags

These use a textured, embossed paper layer that provides a lighter cushioning effect for items that need gentle protection rather than heavy-duty impact resistance — ideal for clothing, accessories, books and similar semi-fragile goods. Like the honeycomb option, it's single-material paper and recyclable in the kerbside stream.

Quick to pack. Both types have a peel-and-seal adhesive strip, so they close quickly without separate tape — which also keeps the sealed parcel a single paper stream. If you tape parcels, pair them with paper tape to keep everything recyclable together.

Lightweight and economical. Paper padded mailers are light, helping keep postage costs down — and because EPR fees are charged by weight, a lighter mailer also means less tonnage placed on the market.

Reusable. If a bag is in good condition after first use, it can often be reused before it's eventually recycled — a simple way to get more value from the packaging.

Why paper padding instead of plastic bubble?

A traditional padded mailer relies on a plastic bubble lining for cushioning. It works, but it creates a two-material product: the recycling system can't easily separate the bonded plastic from the outer, so most bubble mailers aren't accepted at kerbside and are assessed as a composite for EPR — the higher-fee category.

Paper padded mailers solve that by making the cushioning from paper. Whether honeycomb or embossed, the padding is the same material family as the outer, so the whole bag goes in the paper recycling with nothing to pull apart. You keep the protection and lose the composite penalty.

Honeycomb paper: how it works

Honeycomb paper padding is kraft paper die-cut and expanded into a structure of hexagonal cells. Those cells absorb shocks and resist pressure much like bubble wrap, but they're 100% paper. The result is strong cushioning and edge protection for items that need it — without any plastic component, and fully recyclable in the kerbside paper stream.
