ESD Polythene Bags

VCI is a chemical compound which emits a rust-inhibiting vapour into the air to eliminate the formation of rust and corrosion on virtually any metal surface. VCI can help eliminate the need for messy liquid rust preventatives and other rust inhibitors that are not friendly to the environment. VCI products are often used in conjunction with our Packaged Desiccants to offer the industry’s most comprehensive solution to guard against long term condensation and corrosion issues.

VCI polythene is an LDPE film which has this VCI additive infused into it during manufacture to provide a flexible packaging which is waterproof and prevents your products from corrosion. We can convert VCI polythene into bags, sheets and covers as well as layflat tubing and shrink film.

Polythene Bags with Printed Warning Notice (PWN)

Clear polythene bags with printed warning notice and perforations commonly used for clothing and other retail items. When packaging items for resale it is advisable to have a printed warning notice on all polythene bags.

HD Polythene Bags on a Roll

Light Duty Polythene Bags

Light duty poly bags are clear polythene bags manufactured from thin LDPE polythene. These bags are typically between 80 gauge and 120 gauge (20 micron to 30 micron) and a popular for bagging most light and soft items such as clothing.

General Purpose Polythene Bags

General purpose clear polythene bags are often 160 gauge to 250 gauge (40 micron to 63 micron) thick polythene. These are the most popular for industrial applications as they are strong and sturdy enough to bag most items. Medium duty polythene bags give a waterproof barrier helping to keep products clean and dry for long periods, and can be sealed with most industrial grade heat sealers.

Heavy Duty Polythene Bags

Thick heavy duty plastic bags manufactured from strong LDPE polythene for heavy and sharp items. Plastic bags in the heavy duty range are between 300 gauge and 400g gauge (75 micron to 100 micron). These are generally used when needing a more sturdy bag than the general purpose range offers.

Extra Heavy Duty Polythene Bags

Extra heavy duty polythene bags are manufactured from a super thick low density polyethylene in 500g up to 1000g for a super strong bag. 500 gauge (125 micron) bags are often specified for packing parts for automotive, ministry of defence (MOD) industries such as Meggitt, and aerospace industries such as Rolls Royce.

Recyclable Poly Bags

Recyclable poly bags are bags made from materials that can be reprocessed and reused again and again. Recyclable bags can be made from different plastics or paper, most of which are commonly recycled in most UK recycling schemes. The main consideration for polythene recyclable bags is that they are made from just one material. Making them from one material means that the whole bag can be put into the recycling process without contaminating it with other materials. The problem comes when you have two different materials stuck together in one bag making them very difficult to recycle. The most common example of this are bubble lined mailing bags which have a plastic bubble wrap and a paper outer lining. While both materials are recyclable, when they are laminated together they are not easily separated for easy recycling. To overcome this problem, look for bags that are made from just one material, they are much easier to recycle. Most plastic recyclable bags in our range are made from LDPE which is a recycling class 4 material. This is one of the most common packaging plastics and generally makes up the largest proportion of recycled plastic. By using LDPE we make sure that wherever the bag ends up it has the best chance of being able to be recycled. Other recyclable plastic bags are made from HDPE which is a class 2 recyclable material, and polyprop which is a class 3 recyclable material. Both class 2 & class 4 materials are commonly recycled but class 3 bags are more difficult to recycle and not able to be processed by some recycling schemes.
