Paper Packaging
Paper has long been used in packaging, it is one of the oldest forms of packaging, firstly being manufactured from flax fibers and then later from old linen rags. In 1867 paper for packaging started to be manufactured from wood pulp giving the birth of the packaging paper that we know now. In Bristol during 1844 paper was first made into bags, presumably by hand, as it wasn't until later in 1852 that the first commercial bag making machine was invented by Francis Wolle in the United States.
