Cardboard Packaging

Cardboard packaging is packaging manufactured from corrugated cardboard or solid wall cardboard. It is very versatile and cost-effective so is used extensively throughout most industries for protecting, containing, and presenting items on their journey from one place to another. Cardboard packaging is everywhere in the UK, most of us come in contact with it on a daily basis, thankfully it is kinder on the environment than plastic so where we can we should use cardboard packaging rather than plastic. It is biodegradable, recyclable, and manufactured from renewable sources, and added to this a lot of cardboard packaging contains a high percentage of recycled material and some is made with 100% recycled fibre.

Our range of cardboard packaging covers a wide selection of cardboard boxes, diecuts, postal boxes, book wraps, cardboard envelopes, and postal tubes, as well as custom manufactured designs and inserts. It can be printed easily in basic flexo spot colour printing or high definition litho printing, for high impact retail packaging like shelf ready packaging (SRP) and sample presentation mailers.

Are Cardboard Boxes and Packaging Recyclable?

Yes both cardboard boxes and cardboard packaging are recyclable, they are manufactured from paper which is recycled in most recycling plants. The cardboard is mixed with water and chemicals to break the fibres apart then made into pulp blocks which are put back into the paper making system. In fact around 65% of the cardboard we use in our packaging is recycled cardboard, and we also sell 100% recycled cardboard.

Large Cardboard Boxes

We stock a range of large cardboard boxes that can be used for sending large bulky items by courier. Our big cardboard boxes are manufactured from strong double walled corrugated cardboard for super strength and durability. We can also make custom sized large cardboard boxes if our stock range doesn't have the size you need.

Cardboard Boxes for Exporting

Cardboard boxes for exporting products to other countries need to be super tough and durable as they come across many different extremes of temperatures and climate conditions as well as a lot of bumps and bashes. Our range of export boxes are manufactured from RhinoHide cardboard which is a very strong and tough cardboard.

UN Approved Cardboard Boxes

UN approved cardboard boxes are for shipping chemicals and dangerous goods. They have been tested and approved to the appropriate UN standard for the Class of dangerous goods that the box contains. We supply a range of standard UN approved cartons which will allow you to ship most general use chemicals safely and securely. UN boxes can also be specially designed to ship your dangerous goods in a safe and cost-effective manner.

ISO Modular Cartons (IMC)

ISO modular cartons are a range of specially sized cartons often used in the automotive market to ensure regularised and standardised loads. They are tested for size, compression strength, and puncture resistance to ensure the packed items are shipped in the correct strength cartons to minimise the risk of damage. The strictly regulated outer dimensions of the cartons and pallet configurations are often required by some freight handlers and automotive suppliers that supply to the automotive industry.

Eurofit Cardboard Boxes

Eurofit cardboard boxes are a range of box sizes that will fit together to form a perfect fit on a euro pallet. These strong double wall cartons are specially designed to interlock and layer so you can use different sized boxes to all fit together in the 1200mm x 800mm footprint of a euro pallet.

Pallet Boxes & Pallet Packs

Pallet boxes are boxes that fit to pallet sizes and can be used as bulk picking bins and storage containers as well as shipping containers. Using a pallet box removes the need for smaller intermediate boxes and are great for packing lots of small items together on a pallet. There are 3 common types of pallet box; a standard carton design is a big box with flaps top and bottom, the tray, cap and sleeve design is a three part pallet pack that is easier to store, and the third design is a mixture of the two with flaps at the bottom and a cap for the top giving a stronger base and easier filling. Integrated pallet packs are a specialist option that has a pallet integrated into the design for a stronger, more robust pallet box.

How do you measure a box?

The correct way to measure a box is length x breadth x height. First measure the longest opening side of the box, this is the length (L). Next measure the shortest opening side of the box, this is the width or breadth (B). Lastly measure how deep the box is, this is the depth or height (H). The measurements should look something like this: 400mm (L) x 300mm (B) x 300mm (H).

Bulk Distribution Cartons (BDC or BDCM Boxes)

Bulk distribution cartons or BDC boxes are boxes designed in common sizes for use in retail distribution chains. The standard size range ensure that the boxes will always fit shelving slots and pick areas throughout the supply chain helping to increase efficiency and speed during distribution. BDCM versions are a seperate range of sizes that have been revised to ensure best fit for mail order companies.
